taip rusai išsivertė edward yourdon – death march knygos pavadinimą. laikydamas šią knygą rankose pernai skridau iš suomijos namo. manim nesusidomėjo nei apsauga, nei kiti keleiviai. nutariau, kad niekas nesupranta rusų kalbos ;] su metais ir man vis sunkiau ir sunkiau skaityti rusiškai, bet reikia palaikyti įgūdžius.
didelio įspūdžio man ši knyga nepaliko. pirmas patarimas atsidūrusiems beviltiškame projekte – išeikite iš darbo. didžioji knygos dalis aprašo kuo pasižymi ir kaip atsiranda beviltiški projektai. kitoje dalyje labai prabėgomis autorius vardina visokius metodus, kaip tokių projektų išvengti arba juos paversti labiau suvaldomais. galbūt pradedantiems projektų vadovams praverstų aprašomas sveikas protas ir po kiekvienu skyreliu pateikiama bibliografija, bet praktiškai, tai geriau perskaityti kelias knygas apie agile, mythical man-month ir peopleware.
labiausiai sudomino paskutinis skyrelis apie simuliatorius ir "karo žaidimus": kelių dienų nevykusio projekto inscenizavimas su tikslu pasimokyti ir apsiprasti. turėtų būti įdomus potyris. mane asmeniškai labai domina įvairūs edukaciniai žaidimai, kuriuos prasmingai galėtų žaisti developerių komanda. tiek realiame projekte, tiek tymbildingo užsiėmimuose. pavyzdžiui kaip planavimo pokeris, ar neseniai mūsų tymbildinge estų konsultantų pateiktas pratimas įliustruojantis kontroliuojančio vadovavimo neveiksnumą. niekaip nesugalvoju, kaip galima būtų tokius užsiėmimus susigūglinti, nes "software development games" duoda visai ne tuos rezultatus ;]
labai norėčiau surasti užsiėmimų, kurie padėtų suvokti iteracijų ir timeboxing svarbą. vienas iš variantų – kane mar aprašytas kamuoliukų žaidimas. bet reiktų rasti dar bent kelis, nes epic fail atveju nebus jokios alternatyvos ;]

At the end of Glass Jars, I take the glass jar from the Mohlers’ porch—and what I didn’t mention in the video is, I also took two college yearbooks. I mean, I stole them. It’s a criminal act. I always laugh, because there are these books on Zen photography at Barnes & Noble. I think photography is the most anti-Zen activity. It’s all about stopping time, possessing things, holding onto them. And you know, if my goal was to be a healthy person, photography would not be the thing. I have this joke about becoming a binoculographer: you go around and look at the world without photographing. That would be a spiritually healthy way of taking things in. But this wanting to possess it is not so healthy.
